The free dining is for late Aug through early October. They've offered free dining the last several years because this is a really slow time since school just starts & it's hurricane season. Last year, because of the economy, though, they kept pushing it back, all the way through December! We'll see what happens this year.

A mom at school - her oldest works at WDW & he says it's bad. He says the Europeans are the ones that are spending.

And there's even some other special where the hotels are discounted. I got a quote for the end of August - 2 rooms at Animal Kingdom lodge (there's 6 of us) for 7 nights, roundtrip airfare & the free dining = $2000. I don't think that includes the Disney tickets though. But airfare & AK Lodge, my girlfriend paid over $300 a night a few yrs back .

Why can't they do the dining plans at DL like they do at WDW? I know the parks are different, but for my family of 6 it would be a WHOLE lot easier to budget and plan.
