If someone puts EST on an ad for a SS it is a typo. We just changed times so some of the posters may have been created before the time change. Melinda can confirm, but all of the times should be in EDT. I can understand how confusing it can be.

Anyway, the thing that confuses me the most is if the time schedule is at EST or at EDT, which makes an hour difference. Normally for me there's a 6 hour difference between where I live and New York City, now there's only 5 hours difference.
Also, when things are scheduled at EST and you are at EDT you will experience an hour difference as well...
Anyway, I want to know if the times are EST or EDT, so i know at what time I have to start...

When I look at the schedule, times seem to be in EST/CST/PST, not in EDT.
When I look at the speed scrap I'll be hosting, it says 1pm GMT.

She might have just copy/paste it from earlier years, but since we didn't change yet, it's quite confusing (and I am sure it will be for most living in Europe).

Okay, just got it confirmed by Melinda: schedule is at EDT (even though she calls it EST). This means the GMT's aren't right at the moment, but she will change that tonight!

Yes... I have fixed the GMT times.... I did copy and paste from last year and our 2014 Marathon was before the time change. Thanks for calling it to my attention.

Welcome to the world of Daylight Savings Time, when we in the USA change our clocks twice a year for reasons that still befuddle me. EDT - Eastern Daylight time (when the clocks are moved forward one hour, giving us more "Daylight"). EST - Eastern Standard Time - regular old time without it being changed about. So, they are actually two different times (one for winter, one for summer).

If you don't get all that, then it's okay and not worth any brainpower.

I'm so excited! I'll be able to make most of Friday & Saturday afternoon. We'll be gone all day on Sunday. Hopefully I'll be able to get a bunch scrapped!

Working on that as we speak. Trying to make sure we have it all right before posting. It will probably have several updates like last year. LOL!

Well, I know about the time change, and we do the same here in Europe. The only thing is we change at the end of March, not in the middle... So for now there's an hour less difference between you and us.
Good thing, when time changed back last October, we were on the plane coming home from WDW! So instead of 6 hours difference, we had only 5 hours... (Which is still horrible.... hate that jetlag, i think I suffered until Christmas).
But what me confused the most was that times were set in EST, not in EDT. So when you say 8am EST, it should be actually 9am EDT. If you want to start at 8am anyway, the GMT should have changed (or the EST should be 7am...). Glad Melinda changed the GMT's. Here in Holland we are still at GMT+1, in two weeks we are at GMT+2... But with these events you have to keep counting and counting and counting (and that's not my best).
