I really like Maleficent right now. It's a beautiful layout, but does not get even close to the color palette presented.

When completing a color challenge, you want to be very, very close to the colors presented.

I used a utility called Digital Color Meter to duplicate the two colors along with their RGB values. First: 195 0 139 Second 222 63 142.

I'm really very sorry, Roxana. I don't feel it is even close. However, in the spirit of fairness, I will leave it up to those who have already completed their layouts to decide. I will drop them all a note and ask them to come review your layout.

Any other color challenge that i have done, mostly every month at Scrap Orchard, any shade of the specified colors can be used.

So, what I'm saying is this - What's the big deal? I see pink, black and green. This is scrapbooking. Not a gold medal sport.

This is really bugging me. You said this previously. Just get as close as you can.

Most designers use color palettes when designing their kits. So if you find papers that match the color palette... the elements should fall right into line.

I hope this makes sense!! Just get close as you can to the colors of the palette!! And you will be golden!

I looked at the color challenge at Scrap Orchard. It specifically says you don't have to match, any shade is fine. I did not make that qualifier, nor do I do challenges any where else that would allow that. Why bother posting shades instead of just saying red, gray, blue for instance? This being a two week challenge, I picked a tougher one. Close is one thing, but any shade is another.

I mean, why not just say - post any old layout if that was the case? Challenges do have a point to them.

Close is one thing. Any shade is another. Everyone has lots of kits. The hope was for people not to rush into a layout, but to take time to look for that close.
Mixing and matching kits if needed.

However, I stand by my decision to let you all have input and I dropped Connie a note for hers. You may be "bugged" by this, but I am as well. I don't see the close at all. And that was the challenge.

So, let's not argue that point. Just get the input. I can live with that. Hopefully, you can as well.

Well, you asked for our opinions and I gave you mine. I don't make the rules, but I do follow them when asked to. I'm curious to see if anyone else who did this challenge will respond and what their opinions are.

I did receive a response via PM (which I said was perfectly fine.) Their suggestion is to let Connie decide since she is the designer. I responded with I already contacted Connie earlier today for her input. This being a weekend, she is probably busy with family stuff, but she will get back to me soon. I have faith in that!

I agree let Connie decide. Overall the pink doesn't match the colors given but if you look at some of the elements she used I believe the colors in them are much closer to the given colors. For example, I believe the pink stripes and hearts on the balloons are pretty close to the pink color given.
