Aladdin & Jasmine

I hope it's ok that I started this thread. I saw a thread for Jasmine, but I saw other threads for characters together (like Lilo & Stitch), so I thought it might be ok if I started a thread for Aladdin & Jasmine together.

"Aladdin" and "Jasmine" in title, the magic lamp, and Aladdin & Jasmine are from the Dreams Come True Cricut cart. The "&" in the title is from the Jasmine cart. I resized Aladdin in the title with DSS so it was close in size to Jasmine. I would have made the magic lamp with metalic gold paper, but I wasn't sure I could print on that. So I used yellow/goldish cardstock instead, and inked the edge with gold. I also rubbed it over the lamp, so the lamp shimmers in person, but that doesn't really show up in the pic.

Aladdin & Jasmine were the first princess/prince I made with the princess cart. Hard, but not as hard as I thought it might be (the Genie was worse, but I made him smaller. I learned my lesson with that!) I made sure to make them as big as I could, at 5 1/2 on the Cricut, but I probably could have made them even bigger by rotating the base in the software. The only problem was the eyes. The brown pieces were REALLY tiny, so instead I used a marker on them. This worked better on Jasmine's eyes than Aladdin's. I made them several days before I worked on this page. I wish I had looked at my pic of Aladdin before making him, because the color for his outfit didn't match what they show in the handbook. And, of course, I used the handbook as my guide for which colors to use. Next time, I have to remember to look at the actual picture instead! I used glitter paper for Jasmine's outfit, but I wish I used gold paper for her earrings (instead of the brown, which doesn't show up well in the pics.) Still I was pretty happy with how they came out, especially since it was my first time working on piecing people together, rather than a mouse, duck, or dog.
