Star Wars / Make-A-Wish Fundraiser update... goodies added!

We've been doing pretty well on our fundraiser so far with just shy of 7 weeks until the Course of the Force event wraps up. To reiterate what this is about...

EVENT NAME: Course of the Force

EVENT DATE: July 9-16, 2013

ORGANIZATION BENEFITING FROM THIS EVENT: The Make-A-Wish Foundation

EVENT DESCRIPTION: On the heels of last year’s monumental, first-of-its-kind event, Course of the Force, the lightsaber run that captivated the attention of Star Wars™ fans around the world, is returning July 9th – 16th, 2013. Kicking off at the famed Skywalker Ranch, participants will continue the relay run down through San Francisco with several stops along the California coastline before reaching the finish line— arriving just in time for the start of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con® International. Nerdist Industries’ founder Chris Hardwick will be back to host the event, with city-stops along the way featuring “Conivals” where fans can celebrate their love of the Saga with live entertainment, expo booths, giveaways and much more.

To help MouseScrappers raise money for Make-A-Wish, we've had several members of our community come forward and contribute some goodies for the donors.

EXTRA #1 - Prize for 1 winner
Kilted Candyman crafted this amazing "Gents" knife by hand. He designed it especially for this fundraiser, with the thought that it would make a nice gift for someone special (husband, father, brother, etc). The blade is 5"-6" in length and will have a sheath (still working the details out on the sheath). He is 'raffling' it off - donors will have 1 chance for each $5 donation a person makes to our campaign (e.g. a $5 donation will have one entry, a $15 donation will have 3 entries, etc)

EXTRA #2 - Prize for 1 winner
Michelle from Mad for the Mouse Designs is raffling off her entire store. One lucky winner will receive a code that can be used to download every item in Michelle's store. For ever dollar donated she will throw your name in a hat. For example, if you donate $5, she'll put you name in 5 times. If you donate $10, your name goes in 10 times.

Update June 11: I finished my costume! Well, I still want to make a few minor changes, but here I am last Saturday at a Navy hospital (at a benefit picnic for NICU survivors). I am the black/red Mandalorian on the far left (Boba Fett called me his cousin, lol)

Mini-update... I am finished with my costume and used it to 'troop' in two charity events last Saturday. It was soooo much fun interacting with the kids! I've borrowed a Tusken Raider costume for 3 other events, but it was so much nicer wearing something that I made myself (and it fits me much better... and I can see much better). I added a couple photos to the first post. This costume is a Mandalorian, which is from the planet Mandalore (where Boba Fett / Jango Fett are from). They don't appear in the 6 movies, but appear in the Clone Wars animated series as well as some comic books. I rather enjoy stepping outside my normal girlie life and playing a (male) bounty hunter, lol - not sure why, I guess I'm just a Star Wars nerd.

Is there an area to post LOs using Planet Wars. I will of course, put it in the appropriate sub-forum, but thought that it would make a nice challenge, too! (Getting the word out as well).
