We've been members since 2003, with our home base at The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.


Joining DVC is the best thing we could have done, and would recommend anyone to purchase whether it be original sale or resale.
The savings over staying in a similar resort is huge.
We crunched the numbers, figuring what we spent on room rates for an on property resort over 5 years. It came to the same amount as the purchase price of a DVC. After 5 years we are staying for free.
The annual dues, or management fee is similar to homeowner assoc. dues. It covers landscaping, property taxes etc. The cost is based on number of points purchased. For us it is under $500.00 annually.
As for housekeeping, you are staying in a home, not a hotel room. You make your own bed, empty your own trash etc. Housekeeping does a weekly trash and towel day, more often at extra cost. They also do a weekly cleaning.
We added on more points, so our dues will increase accordingly, but no where near 1500.00. Anyone paying that much annual dues most likely has enough points to stay in one of the Grand Villas which sleep 12.
