Thanks for making me dig up some of these old photos.
Journaling reads: We were at Disney World for about the 4th time since it opened in 1971. I was 9 and my brother Shawn was 6. Our favorite place to eat breakfast was the Town Square Restaurant which featured Oscar Meyer, (which is now Tony's Town Square Cafe) on Main Street. You can see that the front windows haven't been changed since the park opened. Not only did we love that restaurant, but we loved Tom Sawyer Island. My brother and I ALWAYS had to walk across the barrel bridge. Years later when I was in high school, I remember getting stuck in Injun Joe's Caves during a thunderstorm. The cast members on the island said that we had to evacuate because of the storm (which made no sense because we were in a shelter). The rain didn't really start to come down until we were on the rafts going back to Frontierland. We couldn't have gotten wetter if we had just jumped into the lake. I still think of that every time I walk by the island.
