If you're using Photoshop Elements, this action is the quickest, easiest way to save for web (and it's only $1):

Once you run the action, then click -->File -->Save for web. You'll get a pop up box. In the upper right corner are 3 lines. Click there -->Optimize File Size Then you'll get another pop up box. I usually put 247k in there so it's always set & ready to save.
