Aulani (Disney Resort and Spa on Oahu)
 

Just announced: Booking for Aulani begins August 2nd. It is scheduled to open Fall 2011.

For those not familiar with this property, it is the newest Disney Vacation Club resort (though you don't have to be a member to book a room there). It is located in the Ko Olina area of Oahu. I visited Ko Olina area a few years ago - it's just beautiful and has a country club feel (surely the guarded gate, golf course, "waterfalls" (water features) and nice homes has something to do with it). The resorts that are currently in the area (e.g. Marriott) each seem to have their own little bay for swimming. Note that the area is a long way from the hubbub of Waikiki (which could be good or bad depending on what kind of experience you are looking for).

I suspect it will be very hard for DVC members to get a room here (using points) unless you own there, but it's just a hunch. :rolleyes: I don't know how hard it will be for non-members to get a room - but I'm sure it will be plenty expensive! But the artists' renderings look fantastic! I am sure it will be an absolutely beautiful resort.

Thanks, Teresa! I'm sure there will be a lot of info headed our way in the next few months. I can't wait to hear who from our site will get to stay there first - and can't wait to see the first layout! Oh, I guess I'll need to create a new forum!
