McDonalds in Downtown Disney (Florida) to close
 

The McDonalds in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World will close on April 30th. It will reopen as 'Pollo Campero' (which is not a brand I am familiar with). I've never eaten at this McDonalds, but probably would have (fits more in my budget than all the other restaurants there :blush:)

We just ate there last month! It was PACKED!

Interesting; they must have changed the contract with McD - the place in Epcot that served fries also has a new menu. Much improved and fits better with Epcot; I always wondered why anyone would eat McD fries there along with all the unique offerings.

We've had lunch there several times. Sad to see it go! McD's tastes better at Disney!

Let me tell you, in the Latino community Pollo Campero is HOT!!! When one opened down the street from us a few years ago, they had to get the police there for traffic control. People drove literally hours to get there for the grand opening. I know that the traffic in the area didn't die down for weeks. But now there's more here and the lines are much more managable.

We still haven't eaten there yet, but I heard that the chicken is to die for. It's rotisserie chicken, too.

I believe Disney's contract with McDonalds ended a few years ago, and they've been slowly fazing them out of the parks. All their fries places inside the parks were closed sometime last year.
