Aulani (DVC - Hawaii)
The Disney Vacation Club resort planned for Hawaii (in the Ko Olina resort area of Oahu) has been officially named! It is called "Aulani" which I personally like, but maybe I'm biased. ;)

Hey, that’s a great idea! I like the way you think. ;-) I’m sure it’s going to be very hard to get a reservation there using DVC points. I can’t wait to hear what Alani thinks about the new name.
On a side note, this ironically comes on the heels of another name they "stole" from me (Tiani). I don’t think they’ll be stealing the name Kyle from me, though. |

The Walt Disney Travel Company is going to start accepting reservations for Aulani on August 2nd (non DVC).
I just took a look at DVCNews.com, and they anticipate that DVC reservations will begin Sept 29 (for Aulani owners). This will be the 11-month window. Anyone see how much points are going to cost for this resort. Surely a lot! |
Hey Carol (not to hijack the thread or anything), but have you heard anything more about the resort they're planning in Maryland, at the National Harbor? This thread made me think of it.

No, I hadn’t heard anything about it. Just looked it up and only found information you probably already knew (that Disney purchased 15 acres in May of 2009, saying it was going to be a resort with 500 rooms… though Disney declined to indicate if it was for DVC). It would be great for a getaway trip for you since it’s within driving distance (?), but I would hesitate to actually buy into a property there.
