When you travel do you carry on your camera?
 

Just wondering...

When you fly, do you carry on your camera or check it in your luggage?

I am gearing up for my trip next month to California and I am wondering the best plan for my camera. I am figuring I will carry it on, but wanted to see what the majority does...

Always. You never know what the air pressure will be in the baggage area, and it could ruin your camera. The baggage area is also not heated as the passenger cabin is, and the cold air can also do damage to it. Or worse, it could be stolen from your suitcase. It's the second thing that I have on my carry-on list, besides my purse.

What Jan said. We've gotten luggage back that was soaking wet from condensation. I would be devastated if anything happened to my camera. I have a Tamrac lap top/photography back pack that I use for travel even when we're driving somewhere. It's quite comfy and distributes the weight nicely and well padded. When traveling the camera/lap top never leave my presence. (in hotel rooms, everything is double locked up, they'd have to literally take my luggage)

I also agree, we take our camera on the plane with us...My hubby kepts it close by his side at all times...I would be afraid that it would get "accidently" get lost with my luggage...I also carry my laptop on the plane with me too..

Always, it´s my hubby ´s baby, and I have my small one always on my purse too, just in case LOL!!!

We ALWAYS carry our camera on. We are afraid of the different temperatures, the handling, or the chance of the camera being lost!

We always like taking pictures from the plane and when were first arriving, before we have our luggage:)

I also carry on my camera and all my lenes! I dont trust it in with my baggage. I actually keep it on my lap we fly Jetblue and I like to take photos of the tv screens saying where we are. I love cloud pics also!!

I usually take mine in carry on. I bought a camera bag on Etsy and use that. It's an across the shoulder bag with a flap and compatible for a Nikon camera. I love it.

I never been on a holliday with an airplane. But if I would, and I will one day to visit WDW, I will carry my camera with me. Right now it's still a new one for me (got it 2 weeks now), and I love experimenting with it. And because I make pictures of almost everything it's another reason to keep it with me.

I also carry on my camera. I wouldn't dare leave it in a checked bag because you never know what could happen. Also, my mother worked for the airlines about 10 years ago and have you heard how they treat checked bags!? I doubt much has changed about baggage handling when no one is looking. :whistle:

We do Carry on... Safer in our own hands... we dont like to let it out of our sight...
