WDW Scrap Princess 12-28-2010 09:52 AM

I am SO exited, have to organize my pics and my kits to set and go!
It is so awesome!

gcmom 12-29-2010 11:46 AM

too excited!! I got so much done last marathon and I haven't had much of a chance to scrap since I was in class so much in the Fall semester, I'm excited to start scrapping!! It's my goal to finish up our 2009 Disney album and the 2010 Disney album before our next trip in 2011, lol. I've got to do some shopping and organizing this week/weekend to get ready for it!!!!

Aussiegirl 12-31-2010 11:05 AM

Very fun! I haven't been scrapping much of Disney lately, so this might be just the "push" I need to finish up one album and work on our Disney on Ice album!

Thank you for all the designers who are donating PP and for all the hard work that went into planning this!

poohaddict 01-02-2011 01:10 PM

Are the rules the same with a 4 hour time limit??? Just trying to figure it out.:thanks:

r0binb 01-02-2011 02:26 PM

I just took a peek at the PP that have been posted. They look great! I'm a little sad that I'll miss out on all the fun next weekend, but I'll be busy taking TONS of photos that I'll need to scrap. I'll be looking for another marathon a few months down the line, after everyone recovers from next weekend.

Happy Scrapping!

tiggernjen 01-02-2011 02:56 PM

I'm getting really excited for next week... :yeah: I will be hosting my first speed scrap and already have my instruction and layout done.. :woohoo: I love the PP, hopefully I'll be able to do the full marathon...

I am fairly new to MS and have not yet participated in any challenges. Is there a page for me to read about how the speed scraps work, or can someone catch me up please? This sounds like a great way to get me moving on my Disney album.

CAVEA001 01-03-2011 07:27 PM

I need to start getting organized too. I have to work on Fri & Sat, so I'm planning to rush home and get started! :scrapbooking:

I think there is a "how to" speed scrap somewhere ... or you could go into an old speed scrap thread and read about what went down. They are fun! :)

It's really easy and a fun way of jumping right in...I was new to MS back in July when they had the first Speed Scrap and I was surprise how many I did...

Here's the general rules....

There will be 7 instructions in total.
The first will be posted on the hour.
The second at ten past.
Third at twenty past.
Fourth at half past.
Fifth at twenty to.
Sixth at ten to.
The final instruction on the close of the hour.

You can also go and look at any of the Speed Scrap challenges and click on the last page...There you can see what kind of instructions are given to make your layout...I hope this helps... :)

bluemaige 01-04-2011 08:09 PM

We just got back from WDW and I can't wait to get scrapping.

bluemaige 01-05-2011 09:42 AM

I do have a question though. can we mix challenges? I want to do the template challenge and the kit challenge...can I do them during the ss and have it count for both? Just asking :)

I saw in the rules of the kit challenge that we can use the kit for the SS weekend.

ALso does anyone know is it a 4 hour time limit or less????:help: I am trying to plan all this out.

QuiltyMom 01-05-2011 01:05 PM

Maybe I'll actually make some progress on my 10/09 cruise! Now, wouldn't that be great!

QuiltyMom 01-05-2011 01:55 PM

Ack. I just found out that there's an activity at my son's school Saturday night. Sigh.

I'd scrap on my laptop if I could, but it's so slow I can't do anything on it!

bethbeck3 01-05-2011 07:00 PM

This thread is so we can chit chat about it and to help answer any questions anyone has.... or whatever!!

I am brand new here and am wondering about the marathon. Any help would be appreciated.

Yay!!
On your marks..... get set.... GO!!![/QUOTE]

ILuvCrush 01-05-2011 07:46 PM

Yes Leslie posted that you may 'double dip' for her kit challenge + the SS. The template/weekly challenges are NOT double dippable (lol is that a word???) HOWEVER... if there was a PAST template challenge that you missed, feel free to use the template now. Just be sure to credit the template maker!!

Unless the individual hosts say otherwise.... to get your PPs for the individual SSs you have the instruction hour+ 4 hrs to finish and upload. I know that some of the Sunday hosts have already mentioned that they plan to give extra time!!

BUT.... this is IMPORTANT!!
To earn the goodie bags for completing the HALF and the FULL MARATHON you can complete them ANYTIME as long as they are in the gallery and the links (not the images) are all in your tracking post in the main thread by NOON EST on MONDAY!!! :yeah:

So even if you miss a scrap because of work/kids/whatever..... you can still be eligible for the goodie bags!!

Anyone who finishes any 7 of the speed scraps will win the HALF MARATHON prize.... and anyone who finishes ALL 14 speedscraps will get BOTH the HALF and the FULL marathon goodie bags!!

The bags have coupons, alphas, elements, WAs, and even full kits!! You will also win a trophy that you can proudly display in your siggy (some forum rules will apply)!!

For anyone that is new and joining us you the 1st time SSing.... there is a Sticky thread HERE that was made for the 1st Marathon in July 2010!! There is alot of awesome info on what to expect and how to prepare to scrap!

Hi girls ! Can't wait to do that speed scrap marathon, unfortunatly 6 of them are in the middle of the night for me :(

Can I expect extra time for europeans, like some used to do sometimes ? :help:

kacibeth 01-06-2011 11:20 AM

Participation Question

Can I participate in the Speed Scrap if I don't have any Disney Trip Pics? We are going on The Disney Dream in May and I would like to get a headstart! I am new to Digi Scrapping......I wish there was a specific link that provided detailed instruction on how to participate in the Speed Scrap.:)

leslie_537 01-06-2011 11:43 AM

The pics are supposed to be Disney Realted: Trips, movies, pin trading, purchasing tickets, preparing for the trip, clothes, decorations....

I suppose you could scrap without any photos at all. Make them quick pages and plop the photos and journaling in after the trip!?!

Talk about being prepared you'd have the album done before the trip!

You can Google some Disney Pictures from the Web. their official website or use Paula's Pictures that she offered a while back.

You can also get pics from Mark Barbieri, he has some stickies here in the forum to his pics in different areas of WDW. For an example go here: Adventureland: http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...lay.php?f=9542, it´s the first thread Sticky

Hope it helps!

I have barely begun to scrap my pictures from my trip in November. This will give me that added push to get stuff done. I've bought a ton of great kits too! :)
Thank you to everyone for putting this together.

Cherry Limeade 01-06-2011 03:38 PM

I am so excited for this. We just got back from Disney last weekend so I have a TON of pictures to deal with! So excited!!!

Can someone please clarify how/where we post our layouts? Thank you!

First upload your LO to the Gallery, there don´t forget to choose the corespondent SS#, I´ve seen the marathon SS are already there, then put a title and in the next box your credits (kit name, designer name, fonts etc), then click upload/submit and another page will open, there copy the direct link (in the middle) and go to the forum threads and look for the correspondent thread and make a post pasting the direct link. Finally go to the SS# thread and make a post there, paste your direct link and the link to the correspondent thread you posted before and that´s it.

To explain better about the correspondant thread: for ex. if your page is with pics taken in Splash Mountain/ Frontierland, go to Disneyworld/Magic Kingdom/Frontierland/Splash Mountain and post there. The http address in this page will be the link you have to copy in the SS thread.

Hope it helps!

ILuvCrush 01-06-2011 08:00 PM

If you need photos to use....
there is also the photoswap challenge thread available!!

You are all welcome to use mine too :D

I spent some time on his site and it is SOOOO cool. I am amazed at how many more photos he got of some of the attractions than I did

***Annoucement - Photo Share during SS Marathon***

I posted this announcement in the Photography Thread, but wanted to make sure everyone saw it..... so I am posting here as well.....

I haven't put together an ad (yet), but wanted to make sure you guys knew that I would be hosting a Special Photo Share during the SS Marathon. This SPS (Special Photo Share) will only be this weekend. Starting today with the first SS challenge and ending Sunday at midnight.

I will post the guidelines and the details this afternoon when the Share begins, but let me leave you with a clue and something to generate some excitement...

The clue is... the theme of the SPS is "A-Z All Things Disney"...

The excitement.... We don't typically offer prizes for Photo Shares, but I thought..... Since the SS is about all participation and having fun... Why not offer a couple random prizes for participating in the the Photo Share?

So be getting your photos ready to share in this Special Photo Share!!!

See ya later for the details! I hope you look forward to playing!
