Weekly Challenge #21 (2/10 to 2/16)
 

I am posting this challenge early since I have a bunch of stuff going on tomorrow.

When I was scrapping my entry for this past week's challenge about my first visit to MGM Studios it got me thinking. What does a typical day at Disney look like for you? Do you get there for rope drop? Do you ride all the rides? Do you take your time and just check out the sights? Do you focus on meeting characters? Do you park hop?

So your job is to scrap ONE DAY at Disney. You can pick ONE SPECIFIC day that you went to the parks or a day from a cruise, etc. Show us what you did that day and be sure to tell us about it.

Requirements:
-Scrap ONE DAY at Disney.
-Use at least 4 OR MORE PHOTOS.
-Include ONE MICKEY
-Upload layout to the Challenges gallery here at Mousescrappers and link back to this thread

Deadline: Midnight PST on February 16, 2010

What a great prize Melissa!! I must have it. But scrapping one day in one page?!! I might have to think of a creative twist on it - I have no idea how I'd scrap one day in one page other than using your amazing Mickey head multi photo template like Lisa did.

I am having the same dilemma but unfortunately do not have that super template:no:

I was so excited when I saw your Freebie for the challenge and then even more excited when I realized that was exactly what I was scrapping from our recent Disney Cruise. A day by day overview of our cruise. I placed pictures on the layout of different things we did throughout the day and then jounalized our events. Terrific challenge!!!

Me either! I drool everytime I see it!! I jumped on digi scrapping bandwagon way after you offered the template as a pp Melissa on the other site. I look forward to the day you offer it again or sell it (HINT!). This pp is very cute and I working on my LO. Thank you Melissa for hosting!

I had a really hard time with this page. I knew I wanted to do my day at Epcot but getting them all on the same page--YIKES! I need Melissa's Mickey Template too!

Page 1: The ability to walk from the Boardwalk into the World Showcase is fabulous. I spent the day wandering around all the worlds discovering hidden Mickeys and secrets. My first stop was in England at the Rose 'n Crown Pub for fish 'n chips--yum! I then headed to Mexico touring the World counter clockwise sampling delightful treats all the way.

Page 2: After a full day of exploring, I am pretty exhausted, but so happy with all that I accomplished!

So here is my layout featuring a few of the many characters we encountered during one day at Animal Kingdom. As my daughter would say "we hit the jackpot" that day! :)

We got a late start this day this past December. We took the monorail from BLT - Contemporary to Epcot and went straight to World Showcase. Our girls love the Kidcot stations, Hubbie's favorite is Japan, and I just love family time in the World while taking the pics I need to :scrapbooking:. Thank you Melissa! This certainly was a challenge!!

This challenge was FUN! It forced me to create a page I wouldn't have... and I have been lagging on scrapping my Disney vacay because I have so many pics of everything. This forced me to make decisions about the best pics and I'm happy with it. lol.

I wasn't sure where to put mine either so I haven't posted it anywhere other than in this thread and the gallery yet. Thanks for your guidance, Carol!

I can't believe I was only able to use 7 pics for the day, I have a hard enough time narrowing a single Disney layout to 7 pics! ;) I picked a day that we stayed at one park (just to make scrapping it easier, we do park hop a lot ;)), and I picked pics that represent things we usually do each day, not just this particular day at DHS (for example, we usually take a pic with the park icon, so there's a pic with the hat; we always meet characters, so a pic with the UP characters; we usually stay for the night show/fireworks, so a pic of Fantamsic.)

Thanks for the great PP Melissa and for the idea. Mine's a little different. I scrapped a Day at Disneyland that I would never forget. I hesitate to share because it is so personal - I guess just beware if you read the journaling.

Journaling: A Day at Disneyland I will never forget...
It was February 21, 2006, just 3 days after your funeral.
I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do with myself... no hospital room,
no round the clock medications, no feeding tube, no making your food,
my life was gone.
you were gone, in the ground, in a pink casket, with dying flowers on top.
We ran away, what else could we do?
We took Tyson, our lifeline, and ran or more accurately drove and drove.
Where else would we end up, but Disneyland? The place where we’d found so
much happiness before.
So we went...
and it was a mess, or I was a mess.
I didn’t see or realize that I would never want to be in the Happiest Place on
Earth when my child was in the ground, in a grave, buried.
Who could know what they would feel? Who SHOULD know how that feels?
“Tyson deserves this. He’s been stuck in a hospital room forever.”
And that was true.
But I was heartbroken and I did NOT want to be there.
I tried. I put on a happy face for Tys when he was meeting Mickey, I smiled
as he ran around Tom Sawyer’s Island, and I took
pictures still. But I wasn’t in them.
I was doing the best I could but nothing could be okay unless you came back.
No one could tell me which princess you would have loved, which character would
be your favorite, which ride you’d adore and beg for,
or what toy you would want.
I will never know those things and Disneyland will never be the same...
... ever again.
That day was just a beginning for the life I would lead from then on.
I still hurt, cry and wonder when I’m at Disneyland,
and I always will.
