Scraplift Challenge #184 (April 16, 2019 - April 30, 2019)

Good morning Mousescrappers!

Is everyone on a scrapping hangover from a great week of scrapping?! I know I loved seeing the gallery FLOODED with some great new pages - full of inspiration for me to finish half a trip and an upcoming trip to DL!

I thought I'd start a Scraplift challenge today.
You'll be playing for this super fun template from Natalie's Place Designs
https://previews.dropbox.com/p/thumb...eg?size_mode=5

First, the rules,

Scraplift Rules:
1) Your LO must be Disney related (or nearby theme park; at home Disney is ok)
2) Upload your LO to the Scraplift Challenge Gallery and post it in this thread.
3) Post your LO in the appropriate thread in the forums and put that link in your post here
4) Leave love for your fellow participants because we all love comments on our LOs

Now, Scraplift yourself! Maybe you made a page over the course of last week you weren't really excited about and want to tweak it. Maybe you posted your first layout 10 years ago and have learned a LOT since then and want to do something like it, only with a new fresh take. I would love it (but not required), if you'd tell us why you lifted it - and even what you did to improve you did any improvements to it).

If you are new to Mousescrappers, and don't have anything in your gallery no worries! Just find something that inspires you and lift away!

I am going to lift my very first layout I posted here 7 years ago for the start of a Speed Scrap weekend. I want to lift it because I've learned so much since 2012, and I don't usually do a huge bold photo like that, so figure I should give it a try again and see what I can come up with. I'm going to guess my clusters will be better after 7 years (but I might be wrong )
http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...-_Page_002.jpg

And, here's my page:
1. I have a bit more shadows and embellishments
2. I made the photo smaller to fit a few things in, and to fit the rectangle picture in better
3. I've credited the designers/template. eek. I didn't do that on my first few layouts posted here
4. But I still have the large photo vibe going on!

Let's see what everyone else can do by lifting themselves! If you have any questions, ask away, or send me a PM.

I will be back with my page!!

Aussiegirl 04-16-2019 05:56 PM

Oh fun! I'll have to look through my gallery and see what I can find! Thank you so much for hosting!

roxana 04-16-2019 07:36 PM

Here's my page. I scraplifted a page I made back in 2010 as I had lost the template I made to share in my blog and recalled it should still be in the cloud LOL And I used the MS 10th anniv. collab, so awesome!!

Oh good! I have been going through my pages and going "I hate this one, and this one and this one..." LoL. Now I have a reason/excuse to fix at least one of them!

RMSTigger 04-18-2019 07:00 PM

I definitely have pages from when I first began digitally scrapbooking but have not uploaded any of them. Is it okay to use one of those? I would most definitely upload it for the challenge as well as the lift. :scrapbooking:

I did a template mashup layout for the MS 10th Anniversary.
I like the way it turned out and have decided to scrap lift it.

what a great challenge. i'll go dig through my layouts and narrow it down- im sure there are many i'd like to redo

I wanted to scrap an old layout, so I chose one of my VERY early ones. Right when I started digital scrapping. I had used the limited templates from Studio J (is that still a thing?) and ZERO embellishment. Just some plain digital papers.

I still use elements sparingly and love jamming in a ton of photos, but they are no longer non-existent! Plus, titles are much more fun now with interesting alphas and fonts...

Now to work on journalling more...

This is my scraplift from my very first LO that I posted here in 2013. Back then I didn't know that I could move the templates and use shadowing. I didn't know about all the elements I could add anywhere I wanted. I'm still not great at this but do believe I've learned many things since then. Thank you for the challenge and the wonderful prize. I love seeing so much activity again on this site!

Scraplift

I struggled and struggled with this layout and no matter how many times I worked on it I never liked the outcome. So... I tried again. Better. But maybe I will have another go at it one day.

Fun Challenge. Thank you for hosting and the wonderful template from Natalie's Place.

I am going to scraplift this layout. It was from a speed scrap.
http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...h_edited-1.jpg

I added another picture. I added staples (in the past, I had avoided putting staples on layouts not sure why but recently I started using them). I mixed the title between fonts, alpha and word art, historically, I either do font or alpha but hardly combine them. I added fasteners by the buttons to hold the paper stacking down.

oh my goodness! I used Studio J!!! That's how I started digital scrapping too (I was a rep so I could get my pages really cheap!). I was only disappointed later that I didn't have digital copies of all the pages because in the beginning they didn't offer digital of every one of them when you bought them - just sent you the print out. It's not a thing any more, unfortunately. It's where I bought my pages even when I didn't use them to design. great quality!

Thanks for playing!

I am going to scraplift an old layout that I did a few years ago. I love this template and want to do a similar layout for a more recent trip with the large picture across the top as this was our first trip to Disneyland.

Scraplift

I liked the idea of going back to your old pages and scraplift one of them. This one was from the first Marathon I participated in.

http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...cesses-201.jpg

The reason I picked this one is:
1. It was kind of bland.
2. I wanted to add some clustering and interest that would make it fun, but wouldn't detract from the photos (I like these to be the star of my pages)

This is the revised page.

http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...wland-ms19.jpg

I like how it turned out. I started with a simple cluster and then kept adding elements. I like what it looks like.

Disneysheryl65 04-21-2019 01:12 PM

I chose this layout. It was one of my first challenges in 2013 and I was very new to the world of digi-scrapping. I mixed lots of kits and feel like my embellishments are a little over the top (all 4 corners with fireworks.)

http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...ft_hat_107.jpg

In my scraplift, I used one kit to do the whole page and tired to use restraint with the embellishments.

Thanks for hosting such a fun challenge!

Here is my OG page I scrapped about 10 years ago. Way before I knew anything about shadowing and weaving elements and how to even clip to a template.
http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos...-donald-og.jpg

This is my lift of my page. I stuck to 3 photos but added all the things I did not know about before.

I also decided to do my very first layout...I had no idea how to cluster or resize or even really use shadows or templates.

Studio J got me into digital scrapping as well. I too was a rep and loved the program and was sad when it was discontinued. I left paper scrapping completely back then.

Thanks for hosting, I redid one of the pages from the 10 year challenges. I knew I wanted to go back to this one, great for the push to revisit it.

Since I didn't really have one of my own layouts to scraplift from, I chose to scraplift this buzz and woody layout for my own layout of Dug in California Adventureland.

Nice to see another former Studio J person! I really do miss the quality. And the super easy of it!
