Weekly Challenge #175 March 6-14,2013
 

Hi, all!! Sorry I'm a day late!! I'm at work so I'll have to post the prize later today(or tomorrow)

Here is your challenge (I've given an extra day!)

March 6, 2013 marks the start of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. Your challenge is to make a layout of something Disney, but flower related. It can be those fabulous topiaries Disney is famous for or any of the greenery/flowers that Disney always has everywhere. If you haven't been to WDW or DL in a while or never took photos of the flowers/topiaries, you can either use a Google image or you can just have lots of flowers and greenery on your page. Here are a few LOs I've done featuring the topiary "statues". Images are linked to the gallery.

Here are the guidelines for weekly challenges:

1) Challenge should be Disney related
2) Layout should be uploaded to the MouseScrappers Gallery in the Weekly Challenge category
3) Your layout needs to be posted in this thread and in the appropriate venue/attractions thread on the forum. If you have a Character meet & greet layout, please post it in the appropriate thread in the Character Encounters section!
4) Let's all keep it fun and supportive... we are here to motivate each other, so try to leave some love for others.
5) Please don't use a quick page to fulfill the challenges -that really isn't fair to everyone who created their own page to receive the prize, and makes light of the prize providers work.

Fun challenge! I've been needing to do a page of the HS sorcerer mickey topiaries but haven't been inspired to do so yet. This challenge is just what I need to help me get them scrapped!

Andrea, I know you what you mean!! I have tons of photos from the F&G in 2010, so I figured why not? It is really neat how they make them look so real and to think that they are all made from plant matter!

Holly I LOVE topiaries so this is right up my alley LOL :lol2:

Thanks for the fun challenge! I didn't have any flower/topiary pics, so I went with the "lots of flowers" option. :)

Well my layout is all finished, BUT....I used a kit for a CT I'm on. I'm waiting until the 14th to post, so it's as close to the release date as possible. Didn't think about it until I was all done. :( So look for my layout then. Thanks again for the great challenge.

Greenhouse Topiaries!
 

My layout is of topiaries still in development! We took several behind the scenes tours and the ONLY place where photos are allowed is at the Disney greenhouse. They are VERY PROUD of their topiaries and are willing to share how they are grown!!

This challenge worked great with our recent trip photos to Epcot. They were getting ready for the Flower show and had the Land of Oz Garden set up. There were these awesome glass flowers.
