Chit chat for January Speed Scrap Marathon
 

I am putting the finishing touches on the schedule for the upcoming 4th Annual Speed Scrap Marathon. I hope you have marked your calendars and you are getting excited.

The format is basically like last year... lots of Speed Scraps, tons of amazing prizes, lots of chatting, a half marathon goodie bag and a full goodie bag if you get them all completed and LOTS and LOTS of FUN!!!

I will be back very soon wtih more information, a complete schedule and some eye candy to get the excitement started.

I hope you are getting ready and will be able to join us. The fun starts Friday at 10:00 am EST with Kellybell Designs. Get ready!

Yeah so excited!!! I'll be hosting a Speed Scrap once again this year and I can't wait!!

Well to get things started I thought I would share my Speed Scrap Checklists to make your marathon hopefully a little more organized and easier. I created them in two different styles depending on what works best for you. I like the Speed Scrap list of rules along with the credits beside it although I sometimes use the 4 page checklist and then write the credits on the back to help keep track of my kits while I scrap. I cross them off after I've completed each one so I know what I have left so I can priortize which ones I can meet deadlines and which ones I just need to finish to complete all of them. :) Use them as you wish...Happy Scrapping!

I am so excited!!! DH has already been told that I will be scrapping all weekend long!

I'm going to miss this years Marathon :( I'll be in Key West for a long week-end and won't be back until late Sunday night...

I am so excited for this! Not shure if I can complete the whole thing since I have to work on friday and saturday, but I will try my best!

I hope to play some on Friday. It's my husband's birthday weekend so I need to do some fun stuff for him.

Ok can someone remind me how many total speed scraps to expect? I can't remember from last year :confused:

Last year there was a total of 16 speed scraps. 5 on Friday, 6 on Saturday,and 5 on Sunday. If you participate in all 16 you get a "gold" medal if you participate in 8 or more then you get a "silver" medal. If you finish within the time allowed by the host your recieve the PP! Plus based on Silver or Gold you get a goodie bag at the end for the level you complete. So much fun and lots of goodies! Woohoo!!

What a weekend! On Saturday we're having dinner with friends we haven't seen in ages, DS has a wrestling tournament, DD has skating practice which I have to stay for (I'm on first aid & snack duty) then work at the rink, and Sunday is full with church and more skating & work. I'll try my best to get in as many scraps as possible.

I need to do an examination on Saturday before noon. So I wont have that much time before it :( And on Sunday before noon, I need to work. But when I convert my time to the US timezone's that when you're all be sleeping ^^ So I'll do my best to get my hands on that gold medal again ;)

You've really got to give more than a week's notice. I will be in New York from the 17th to the 22nd so there is NO WAY I can participate in anything this go round. I missed the last weekend because I was in Charlotte.


Please, please, please, in the future, please give more than a week's notice for the marathon.

Sorry Charlene. I did post the dates on 12-18-12, but didn't make a formal annoucement. It was a reply to a post asking about the dates. I will make a point for future marathons to make an annoucement post.

Have a great time in New York. We'll miss you. I hope the nice weather continues so you aren't having to deal wtih cold and snow.

As long as the family cooperates, I'll be here! I might even try to talk my husband into going into work on Sat and taking the girls (they love to go to their daddy's work and "help" out!) That would give me lots of uninterrupted time to work on the SS! My only issue is on Sunday, we have Church, so unless those SS's are given more time, I'll probably have to miss them! :(

I sure hope we get a little extra time on the first couple ones on Friday...I have to work. Trust me I was trying to figure out how to take a personal leave day, but sadly I have observations and coaching to do!

Yea... I gotta work too... so I understand. :(

Remember even if you don't meet the deadline for the individual Speed Scrap prize, you still need to make a page. It counts towards the goodie bags. :)

Btw, can Britt be very kind and give us LOTS of time? There's no way I'm going to make a page at 3 AM and do my examination just 5 hours later... And I'm sure I really going to want her PP :D

Haven't done a Speed Scrap before so I doubt I will be trying for a silver let alone gold but will see how this woks. Maybe do one or two to join in the fun.

Will try to get a couple things organized over the next couple days to hit the ground running.

I hope you are able to join us, Jim. They are lots of fun. Crazy, but fun. Also, the desginers are amazing. They donate fabulous goodies for the marathon bags.

We also chat the first hour while instructions are being given. Come join us in the chat room.

In addition to the fabulous spreadsheet, Cynthia has also created us some rockin medals for those who complete the half and full marathons. You can proudly sport them with your siggie. Gold and Silver versions just for the occassion.

I hope I can make some of them! My daughter's birthday is Monday and we are having her party on Saturday, but I hope to make as many as I can!

I'm so excited! This is my birthday weekend so I'll get to at least scrap all day Friday & Saturday :yeah: Sunday is iffy cuz we're supposed to be at a class at church, but I'll see what I can do! :yes:

I made an error in my Speed Scrap numbering. It should have started with #126 not #120.

I have corrected the master thread. Cynthia will be fixing her spreadsheet. Please update your tracking threads with this new information.

I already told my hubby about this weekend and he answered: " you better make your mom come on Saturday" :swear: She usually comes on Saturdays but as we're in summer here, most of the weekends shes going to the beach :no: so I might not make all the chats but definitely will make all the SS :whistle:

Your all very welcome! I'm an over organizer..LOL! You should see me when I plan a Disney trip. This makes it so much easier for me to keep up during these crazy fun speed scraps!
