Short tutorials or one long class?

I've started making movies for a digital scrapbooking class online. If you were to watch my movies would you prefer to take a whole class with hours and hours of movies or would you prefer to pick and choose the parts you are interested in and watch them in smaller groups?

The movies will be available to you forever online, no hurry. Just wondering if I should make a large class or a bunch of little ones.

I don't know a thing about digital scrapbooking. But even though I would have to watch the whole thing, I think shorter clips are the way to go. It makes the information more digestable and means if there is somthing you forget you don't have to wait for the whole video to buffer again. I just think it would make it much easier to learn. Just my opinion though

You could offer a "class" with a group of small segments, each one building on the skills from the previous one. That way, if you are looking to sell the classes, then the participants can also use the smaller segments as a resource later if they want.

Great idea. I think short, subject specific tutorials would be best. Kind of along the lines of knittinghelp.com

Definitely shorter targeted tutorials would be my preference. I like to take a tut video and watch it once, then go back to the beginning and practice it. Usually the only time I'm watching videos is when I'm finding myself stuck and can't work it out on my own so it would be nice to just go to an index or something and find the tut I need and watch it when I need it.

Thanks so much for even thinking of doing this! Your last tutorial was brilliant -- I am using Mini Bridge pretty much exclusively now when I'm making a LO.

I don't use Photoshop, but am thinking about giving it a try. Thus... anything would be helpful. Knowing myself... shorter would probably be better. That way, I can watch and then give it a try before moving forward.
