I've never done any digital scrapping. I've always only done the old fashioned paper and scissors way! (And actually haven't done a lot of that... yet) But after looking at all the cool things you guys are doing, I'm thinking about giving it a try at some point in the future. Its interesting to see what you guys are using and what you think of the programs. I have a Mac and did a bit of searching online and found this review.

I'm leaning toward MemoryMixer or iScrapbook. It looks like iScrapbook has more templates and extras, but MemoryMixer has more output options and had input video and music.

Are the video and music that important? Do any of you use that function in your digital scrapping?

I read thru that before too, I just got a Mac and ordered IScrapbook too.
I also have MemoryMixer and like it a lot. and Yes the Music and Video is very important to me because once you do a scrapbook you add that and share it in the web so it is like a Movie it takes the boredom out of seeing slides with no sound. You can also do fun transitions to make it more interesting and I believe you can add Narration.

I recommend to download the Trial of Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac, that one is my ULTIMATE fav, although I am still waiting to try IScrapbook

and yet I get ALL the softwares that do scrapbooking....

I think the version of Elements I have is 3.0...yeah, its been that long since I updated. I never thought about using Photoshop to do scrapbook page layouts. I'll have to look into that. I have a program called Comic Life I've used to do picture layouts for trip reports, but you don't have the option to do the embellishments with that.

I think I saw that iScrapbook also has a trial download available. Maybe I'll do that just to play around with it. This digital stuff is still all very new and a bit scary to me!

I bought iScrapbook 5 the other night, on a whim, and at first I felt that it was a big waste of money. However, today I downloaded all of the free kits, and I may be changing my mind for the good. I was actually able to finally do a decent page with the downloaded materials, and it was fairly simple.

I have also downloaded some scrapbook apps from the App Store on my Mac computer. They are pretty easy to use, but since most of them were free they are limited in some ways. However, I sometimes combine digital stuff in my traditional scrapbooks, and these programs help.

I am tempted to grab some Disney Clipart off the internet, but I am reluctant. I am wondering if doing that could put me at risk for getting a virus on computer. My Mac computer was infected with a virus earlier this year, and I had a lot of Disney Clipart at the time.

One issue I've noticed with clipart is that it doesn't always print nicely. A good resolution for printing is 300 dpi. Clipart that is only used for the internet can be far less and still look good your screen. Check the resolution of an image before you use it

Cool Needing new digital scrapbook program

Been out of the scene for a couple of years and I really want to get back into digital scrapbooking as I have a girl that will be graduating in 2 years...I am SOOOOO far behind in scrapbooking that I better get my butt in gear now if I am going to have anything for her at graduation time!

I used to use Creative Memories, but it is no longer supported. Wondering what others use. Any suggestions???? TIA!!

smiles!

I've been using PSE for years and it's been good for scrapbooking. We recently had to get PhotoShop CC for my DD since she wants to study graphic communications (hooray for student rate!). Some of the features it has that PSE doesn't are really nice, like being able to group layers together (into collapsible folders), as well as the ability to run far more actions. I also like the 'smart object' concept, though maybe not needed so much for scrapbooking... but it helps if you are doing repetitive stuff across multiple files.

Hi Stacy,
Even though Creative Memories doesn't support Storybook Creator, you can still use it. The company that leased the program to CM was Pastoria. You can use their Artisan software to open your Storybook Creator pages and use your supplies! To use your digital supplies that are not CM, use the get element from PC function. Lots of people still use Storybook Creator. You just need to export your jpg pages so you can print them. I use Costco. Welcome back.

I'm still using CM's SBC+. I just use "regular" digital kits and import them into Personal Art Kits within SBC+.

I export as .jpgs and have 12x12 or 8x8 page prints printed by Persnickety Prints.

At some point I'll have to get new computers (I have SBC+ on my laptop and two desktop computers), and at that point I'll have to decide whether to go with Forever Artisan or PSE.
