Issues with Batteries

Hi!
I have a Canon Powershot sx130. I love it but it seems to use batteries ALOT! I'm talking ALOT...I don't want to continue to spend so much on batteries but I don't want to be a DisneyWorld and not have my camera.
What I am asking is: does anyone have tips/suggestions about how to extend the life of my batteries? What can I do to make sure I'm not lugging around tons of batteries? Is there one brand better than others? Should I go with rechargeables? :help:
Thanks so much for any and all advice. I love taking pictures!

I have rechargeables (two sets) with My camera I can do about two days and take pics like a maniac.

I look at the pics I take but I do not dwell of them too much. (to save energy) at night before going to bed i put them to charge.
hope that helps:flash:

I have rechargeables too, my point and shoot is a Canon also so I totally understand your problem. I always take my 8 rechargeable batteries plus the charger, cant live w/o them!

Recharges are the best!

I was having the same issue; I bought the rechargables and they last much, much longer! I don't even know why regular batteries have expiration dates on them; they NEVER last that long!

While rechargeable batteries are much nicer...they also can go bad! My big Canon has about 5 of the rechargeable ones, but they are all dieing as fast as they are put in the camera! time to stock up on a few more, especially before our trip!

Thanks for all the input.
Guess I will be stocking up on some rechargeables before Sept.
Are all brands the same? Should I get a certain type?

I have a Canon powershot sx 10is and I have used Energizer Ultimate Lithiums AAs - the blue ones - and they last a long time.
