Stickyhelp please

Hi all. I am fairly new to scrapbooking and brand new (never done at all) to digital scrapping. I've been lurking here and just wandered into the Challenges area. I want to learn what the challenges are about but couldn't find a sticky explaining each type of challenge such as what is a phone challenge. I feel rather silly as I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious. Thank you all for your patience with a newbie and I can't wait to meet some of you! -Roni

You know, that would be a good idea to have! I'll ask Carol aout it. :)

The first Telephone challenge has an explanation:

The weekly challenge always changes depending on the host.

For the template challenge, the host posts a template that you use, but you can modify it if you like. This challenge doesn't have any prizes, since you are getting a free template. :)

Here's the Speed Scrap thread with explanation:

Kit challenge, the host provides a free kit, and your layout must be 90% using their kit. Obviously no prize for this either, since you are getting a free kit. :)

The scavenger hunt you can find the explanation in the first thread
http://www.mousescrappers.com/forums...ead.php?t=5392

Scraplift challenge you lift the layout or a layout from the gallery the host posts.

The photoswap has a sticky thread:

Think that's all of them!

Thanks so much for your terrific explanation! I think I'll wait till I get a bit more comfortable with how to do digital scrapbooking but the challenges sound like lots of fun! I am looking forward to joining in. For now I think I will lurk till I get the hang of it. Thanks again and happy scrapping!

This is a great place to learn! The kit challenges are easy enough to jump in on at any level. That way you have materials to work with and if they don't provide an alpha you can use a font for your title. The scraplifts are also a good starting point because you can take an idea and use it - the theme, the colors they used, the way they placed things, the number of photos.... so whatever idea you get from the layout, that is what you run with :D.

Please feel free to jump in and get your feet wet! Everyone here is very nice!

Is it ok to borrow from an old challenge? I'd like to borrow some rules and templates just for practice. Thank you!
