Boo-yah! Free dining is back!

I just got an email from Disney Rewards. Free dining is open to Disney Visa holders and will be open to everyone else May 2nd. Travel dates are a little more limited than last year (unless they decide to extend it later). For now, it's August 28 - Sept 24 (check in on one of these dates and you'll have free dining for your entire stay).

Reminder, we are having a MouseScrappers meet at the end of Sept (I'm arriving Sept 24), so think about coming at the same time!! :yeah:

UPDATE

Here are the dates currently available for Free Dining

Oh I hope hope hope they extend it a little further! I am going Oct 4-9 and would love some free eats!

tukogirl 04-28-2011 01:41 PM

Will it be the regular dining plan or the counter service dining plan?

Carolc 04-28-2011 02:12 PM

It’s the same that they offered the last few times. The Quick Service plan (2 quick/counter service meals and 2 snacks per person per night stay, plus refillable mug per person) is included with Value resorts (but you can upgrade for a small fee to the regular Disney Dining Plan, which I highly recommend). The other resorts come with the regular Disney Dining Plan (1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal and 1 snack per person per night stay).

Bessops 04-28-2011 02:13 PM

Thanks for sharing it with us Carol!
I have been waiting to hear if they're offering it again this year! I'm soooo excited!:)

PrincessMouse 04-28-2011 03:25 PM

The forced purchase of the memory book is annoying. That adds $100 to your bill and if you don't want it, too bad. :(

gcmom 05-01-2011 09:01 AM

Hey Carol, is it for sure that free dining will be booked tomorrow? I changed our dates just a few minutes ago to 9-24 to 10-8, but the ressie CM was adamant that free dining was not going to come out tomorrow or at all as a general public offer?

Carolc 05-01-2011 07:56 PM

We had free dining last Dec. They don't do free dining at that time that often, and considering they aren't having problems filling the hotels this year, it's not something to count on. (I'm going in Dec again, so of course I hope they have it, lol.)

Neverland Scraps 06-23-2011 06:39 AM

I would love to come but Sept it WAY too hot for my youngest. Although our military post has a 4-day trip, including tickets, food, lodging and transportation for just $342 dollars a person! The only catch, you have to be 18 years or older. We were bummed because it was the same time as the MS meet-up, but it meant it would just be DH and I going as they put the age cap on the tickets. But isn't $342 dollars for a 4-day stay awesome!? I thought so.

Do you know when they will open up booking for Feb 2012?

Carolc 06-23-2011 08:10 PM

It's open for booking now, Wendy!

Korie 07-03-2011 12:25 PM

;)i am hoping that they will have something like the dining and a percent off the room in october... however it is not looking likely at this point in time.... this is the reason i havent booked the rooms yet....

Any news on Free Dining in 2012 after March?

Carolc 03-01-2012 09:43 AM

I'm seeing reports of Free Dining offered to Disney Visa holders (starting today). The travel window is 8/25 - 9/29. They seem to release it to the general public a few days later. I'll update when I actually see it in print from Disney.

snowdrop 03-01-2012 12:10 PM

I believe it's supposed to go on sale to the public on March 5

QuiltyMom 03-01-2012 01:42 PM

I wish I could go for this, but it's the start of skating season. Sigh. Maybe someday...

Carolc 03-02-2012 08:47 AM

Booked my trip today - SO EXCITED! Our last trip was Oct 2010 - it was a 2 week Make a Wish trip for my daughter, we call it the trip that ruined all future trips :-) So our next trip should be interesting, but we are still very excited to be going back :-) Trip dates Sept 16-21, 2012!

The wait is killing me Carol. This time last year I was booked already.

If free ddp is avaialable for UK residents already, it will eventually show up for general public right?

We can only hope! But nothing is for sure. Here is a nice 'history' of promotions on MouseSavers. Looks like last year it was offered on Aug 3. http://www.mousesavers.com/historica...ort-discounts/

I haven't been watching the Disboards... there may be some rumors over there

ana_carol 08-09-2012 10:16 AM

Yes thats right, my husband's birthday is August 5th and he gave me as a present the booking on his birthday.
At least I see that for January 2011 it was released a bit later on August 16, I was getting nervous...

Ill check Disboards to see any rumour
:thanks:

snowdrop 08-09-2012 10:49 AM

There was the conference call for the quarter yesterday, and profits are up. They said discounts will start to not be as prevalent. Of course, I feel like they say this EVERY time, lol, but who knows, this may finally happen. I know I've been wating for AP discounts for October (since only the first half of my trip has the discount), but nothing has happened yet, so I'm guessing it won't.

renatasluis 08-30-2012 11:09 AM

gonna book on uk site, iff you book before 15 th november 2012.
you have certain dates free dining plan in 2013.
planning to go oktober 2013, still far along but free dining for 3 persons saves a lot of money
